Re: CentOS won't stop recognizing disabled fakeraid Post by tenortim » Sat May 15, 2010 4:45 pm This may be very late as a reply, but anyway, if you run 'dmraid -r -E', it will discover any/all fakeraid partitions and then ask if you want to delete the raid signature on them, one by one.
I have a laptop which is connected to my usb hard drive. I backed up some files to it and upon a regular reboot it is now inaccessible. I have Ubuntu and LMDE (Mint 11) installed on my laptop and both were able to access it. The following is information I am including to help someone to help me. Thank you.when I click on it I get this message:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 13: $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 1).
Failed to mount '/dev/sdb1': Input/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.
I checked it in the Disk Utiity program in Mint and it passed all tests except the one that checks the filesystem. It give me the message:Failed to mount '/dev/sdb1': Input/output error

File system NOT clean
I used Testdisk to analyze it and here is what the log file says afterward:

(Solved) - Error mounting:mount exited with exit code 13
(3 posts)My windows xp laptop wont open and after checking this forum have used a linux live cd to open computer. when i have tried to access the hard drive it comes up the message:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 13;
ntfs_attr_pread_i: ntfs_pread failed: Input/output error
Failed to read NTFS $Bitmap: Input/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRaid/FakeRaid hardware. In the first casw run chkdsk /f on
Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the f/ parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRaid/FakeRaid then first activate
it and mount a differnet device under the /dev/mapper/directory, (e.g
/dev/mapper/nividia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation for more details.
